Product Description
Oval Swages (rhymes with stages) are used to make properly terminated wire rope assemblies (slings). These swages must be applied with a matching swaging tool, operated using the correct swaging groove, with the proper number and pattern of swage compressions (how many times the swage is squeezed), and with the tool in proper calibration. A properly swaged wire rope termination with a thimble can be as strong as the cable itself. This is also known as 100% efficiency for a wire rope termination. If you see a wire rope termination with more than one oval swage, it is not stronger than a single properly applied swage. Other sizes besides 1/8 inch and 3/16 inch available upon request.
